Greylag Goose

Greylag Goose, also called Grey Goose are large winter migratory birds found in many locations across Gujarat. The “lag” part of their common name was derived from the fact that they are one of the last geese to migrate. They are noisy birds, gawking at each other most of the time especially when they fly – which is in a V-formation. Thousands of years ago Greylag Goose were domesticated and the soft feathers of these bird were used for stuffing in pillows, mattresses, outdoor clothing, sleeping bags, etc.
