The Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse is a species of Sandgrouse family and a local resident to the state of Gujarat. It is very common in Africa and India whereas in the 1960’s many birds were captured from Rajasthan in India and introduced into Nevada and Hawaii in North America. Its plumage is very plain but acts as a wonderful camouflage in the sand and makes it very difficult to spot. It is also known as Indian Sandgrouse, Common Indian Sandgrouse, Small Pin-tailed Sandgrouse and Lesser Pin-tailed Sandgrouse.
