Ruddy Shelduck is also called Brahminy Duck and is a common winter visitor in India. It has a very beautiful rusty orange plumage which makes it look very different from other ducks. A shelduck is a sort of in-between species between geese and ducks and the Ruddy Shelduck is a goose-like duck that is quite terrestrial in its behaviour and it may also exhibit nomadic movements. It is omnivorous and mainly a nocturnal bird. Ruddy Shelduck are mostly migratory and spend their winters in Southern Asia.
