Grey Heron is a large water bird with a grey plumage. It stands still like a statue at water’s edge and uses it’s dagger shaped bill to spear a fish. Usually Grey Herons stand still and wait for prey to approach in the water. They capture prey with their bills and swallow it whole in one gulp. It is a passive feeder and many times found standing on one leg with it’s neck tugged in between shoulders. If alarmed, it will stretch its neck without moving rest of the body and may take off immediately.
