Purple Heron is the most colourful and beautiful wading bird in heron family. It looks like grey heron but it is smaller in size and the snake-like neck and dark plumage makes it look different. Its colourful plumage actually provides excellent camouflage among the reeds. It is also known as Eastern Purple Heron.
