The Chestnut-shouldered Petronia is a species of sparrow-like bird. It is a common resident and it migrates throughout most of plains in India. It does not migrate to extreme Northwest and Northeast parts of India. They visit Pakistan in summer and are also found in Sri Lanka. They are also known as Yellow-throated Sparrow, Yellow-throated Petronia, Chestnut-shouldered Bush Sparrow, Chestnut-shouldered Bush-Sparrow, Chestnut-shouldered Rock Sparrow, Chestnut-shouldered Sparrow, Indian Yellow-throated Petronia, Indian Yellow-throated Sparrow and Yellow-spotted Rock Sparrow.
