The Red Collared Dove or the Red Turtle Dove is a small pigeon and a summer migrant visitor to India, where it is more or less resident. The species usually forage in flocks and peck grains on the ground where they spend approximately three-fourth of their time. When they first arrive they are often in small flocks, but they soon split up and start pair formation and breeding.
